Cirkopolis

I went to see this Cirque Éloize performance at the Brighton Dome today and it was absolutely stunning!

As the name suggests Cirkopolis is set in an eerie metropolis that has an industrial feel to it - one of the scenes shows a projection of a steampunk city in the sky which is held aloft by mysterious whirring cogs. The artists are dressed in grey suits while they perform invigorating acrobatics which made me wonder how they conceal their sweat patches. Elements of contemporary dance and quirky soundtrack give the show a sophisticated edge.

I’d happily go to see this Dark City meets Bioshock’s Columbia mash-up again and again and again…
